Sea cucumbers

There are only three species of sea cucumbers (Holothurioidea) in the White sea. That must be because of the low salinity.

This is Chiridota laevis. The most common holothurian that lives on the silt bottom deeper than 5-6 m. This cucumber has almost no water vascular system: no tube feet and radial channels, only the mouth-round ring and tentacles.

A very helpless animal!

This sea cucumber is much more rare. Psolus phantapus. This species has very beautiful orange tree-like tentacles (unfourtunately they are hidden).
