Scyphozoa

This is a banal jellyfish that lives in the all seas: Aurelia aurita.

The biggest jelly in the world, Cyanea arctica. It can grow up to 2 m in umbrella diameter and its tentacles may reach 20 m in length! I didn't meet such specimens, I saw much more smaller jellies.

In addition to typical scyphozoans there is a very strange order Stauromedusae. The specimens of that order don't swim, their jellies are polyp-like. In the White sea you can meet 3 such jellyfishes.

Lucernaria quadricornis - the most common stalked jellyfish in the White sea.

Lucernaria bathiphylla, is similar to the previous species. This jelly lives more deep in the sea.

Halyclistus auricula. This is a rear species. It was thought to be extinct, but divers discovered the halyclistus in the White sea again not so long ago.
